Wells Gray Provincial Park

Wells Gray Provincial Park is probably on my top ten list of places to visit. It's truly a unique and beautiful sight to see. The Provincial Park offers camping, including both standard campgrounds and backcountry options depending on what you'd like to do. There are also opportunities for horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, and wonderful lookouts.

The surrounding mountains in the area give the park a canyon-like feel with rivers running through it. The park has various waterfalls to look at, with each of them providing a unique feature to admire. One of the most popular waterfalls in the park is Helmcken Falls, which stands over 141 meters high. I also recommend checking out Dawson Falls, which looks like a miniature version of Niagara Falls from my home-province in Ontario, but with fewer crowds of course!

Scenic driving through the park makes it a joy to get to. If you feel that camping is not for you, don't worry! There are B&Bs nearby that allow you to stay close by and visit the park without needing to camp.
