Agawa Bay
Not many places in Ontario are going to be as nice as Agawa Bay. A 9-hour drive from Toronto, it’s a perfect destination if you’re looking to do a road trip. The topography of the area makes it seem like a place out of Ontario, but that’s the theme when you get to Lake Superior as a whole. I try to travel there at least once a year on a one to two-week road trip.
At Agawa bay, you can swim in the clear fresh water of Lake Superior or canoe on the main lake (we don’t recommend going far; we recommended to stay close to shore or the rivers connecting safely!) There are many trails you can walk at Lake Superior Provincial Park and many scenic lookouts on the drive-by. If able, we recommend visiting in the fall for the beautiful-colored fall leaves as well.
